HEMATITE

Hematite’s spiritual meaning is to bring balance to both the etheric body and the physical body. And due to its magnetic nature and our yin-yang energies, its nature is to bring us back to equilibrium. Hematite belongs to the planet of Mars, the god of war, the god of the battlefield. Therefore, it is a stone of invincibility on all levels – physical, astral, and mental. This beautiful metaphor of appearing strong on the outside but delicate on the inside represents how as humans we give so much more importance to our Ego and the external world than we do to our Soul. The ego hinders our evolution of more profound self-discovery and creates an illusion that we each have an identity or are separate from each other. Although a warrior stone, it is also very fragile in nature. And thus paradoxically, it looks to be nurtured and cared for by its owner.

Hematite is a grounding stone that is mostly used for protection and stability. The word "hematite" is derived from a Greek word that means "blood." As a result, it is known as the "bloodstone" and has been employed as a talisman against excessive blood flow. Hematite is a kind of iron ore that is made up of iron oxide crystals. It is a trigonal crystal system member that may be found in rocks and soil. Hematite has a metallic sheen and comes in a variety of colours ranging from black to grey and silver, as well as reddish-brown variations. Hematite has the properties of grounding and protection. The most effective grounding stone, hematite, promotes stability and protection. When natural, it's opaque red or grey, and when tumbled, it's grey with a mirror-like shine. The number vibration of nine is often utilized to assist balance the root chakra.
