BASTET EGYPTIAN STATUE

ANCIENT EGYPT · CAT GODDESS · BUBASTIS · SACRED FELINES · EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY

Bastet was one of Ancient Egypt’s most beloved goddesses 🖤🐈⬛✨ Often shown as an elegant cat or a woman with the head of a cat, she became closely linked with the home, family, music, celebration and protection. Her feline form reflected the qualities Egyptians admired in cats — graceful, affectionate, independent and definitely not afraid to show their claws when necessary. 🌙🏺

Bastet’s history stretches back thousands of years. In earlier Egyptian tradition she was sometimes depicted as a fierce lioness goddess, but over time her image became much more closely associated with the domestic cat. Her most famous centre of worship was Bubastis, where huge festivals were held in her honour. Cats became sacred animals connected with Bastet, and many were even mummified and buried as offerings. 🐾✨

With its striking black finish, detailed collar and classic Egyptian styling, this Bastet Statue captures the elegance and mystery of one of Ancient Egypt’s most famous feline deities. A beautiful little piece of Egyptian history with plenty of personality. 🖤🔮🏺
