ANCIENT EGYPT · FALCON GOD · SKY DEITY · DIVINE KINGSHIP · EGYPTIAN MYTHOLOGY
Horus is one of the most famous gods of Ancient Egypt 🦅✨ Usually shown as a powerful falcon or as a man with the head of a falcon, Horus was strongly connected with the sky, kingship and divine protection. The ancient Egyptians imagined the sky as his great wings, while the Sun and Moon were sometimes described as his two eyes. 🌞🌙🏺
According to Egyptian mythology, Horus was the son of Isis and Osiris. After Osiris was killed by his brother Seth, Horus grew up to challenge Seth for the throne of Egypt. Their legendary struggle became one of the great stories of Egyptian mythology, symbolising the battle for rightful rule and the restoration of order. ⚔️✨ The famous Eye of Horus grew from these stories and became one of Ancient Egypt’s most recognisable protective symbols. 👁️🔮
Pharaohs were closely linked with Horus and were regarded as his earthly representatives while they ruled. With its striking falcon form, detailed crown and traditional Egyptian styling, this Horus Statue captures the mystery and grandeur of one of Egypt’s oldest and most powerful deities. 🖤🦅✨
